too bee continued
Even more than adding spotty entries, this blog has frustrated me with it's inflexibility, and I was not interested in the journalistic entry style so I am fussing on another website, also not quite ready for primetime. You can see the photos at http://picasaweb.google.com/LaFleurs1?authkey=Gv1sRgCJOspuiDveH5IQ and more gardens and gardening if you find me on the Facebook.

Mary of the Angels Church Chicago

St. Mary of the Angels Church in Chicago has quite an enjoyable website with a video on the restoration of the church. This church churns out weddings, one after another when the sky is blue, and probably when it is not. Besides being breath- takingly beautiful the resident musicians provide music befitting such a place. The Bridesmaid and the Flower Girls

The most precious little girls, nieces of The Bride, carried a chain of orchids in their auntie's wedding. Sometimes sister Carolyn tried to keep them in line. We do not have a picture of Carolyn or the other dressed up children, all on best behavior for the festivities. Here Suzie is a bridesmaid in yellow silk, with a bouquet of white and yellow lisianthus and baby's breath.
The Wedding Guests
The Wedding
The Museum - The Art Institute of Chicago
Here are some highlights of our visit to the Art Museum of Chicago.
The museum is pretty big so you have to look at the maps and plan out where you want to go. We went to see European paintings and the Impressionists, mostly. But we did walk around the beautiful building. Alan took pictures of me outside.
At the end of our tour we found the American Collection. We took pictures of each other with some famous paintings.

Anniversary Party
What better way to celebrate your anniversary, than to invite the bridesmaids for a party? And the main event must be, eating a scrumptuous cake. This cake came from The Dessert Works in Norwood MA.
The guests who enjoyed the party, were Lenore and Kathy, the best bridesmaids, Grammy, Suzie and Alex were there, and Steve, Stenni and Emilie came too. One bridesmaid was missing.
Trip to Chicago

September 6, 2008
After the most uneventful flight to Chicago ever recorded: no delays, arrived early, and the return trip was just as perfect; we stayed at the Hilton Palmer Chicago.
It was under construction, and our room had a view of the roof, but it was cheap. We wandered around this pretty last century hotel under renovation, but all our activities were elsewhere, nearby, so we did not get to swim in the pool or eat in the restaurant. There was never time, it was all planned out.
It was a Destination Wedding weekend!
Friday nite we ate a Jane's. It was a magnificent rehearsal dinner party, and all the old friends were there. We were drinking drinks, meeting the grooms family and complimenting them on their choice of bride. There were lovely, tasteful speeches, and ribbing speeches, and loving speeches and heartfelt speeches. There were speeches for the Notre Dame football team. And a very good meal offered at Jane's, a nice light Fish choice for me and Beef for Alan and our Bridesmaid chose the....Beef? and too chocolaty something for dessert. Our tummies were full and we were very contented, the wine was flowing, and we all knew the young couple was blessed, and twice blest that their families had found one another.
Jane's was just around the corner from The Church. More about that in a later post. Unfortunately the bridal party had to go and come back to Jane's after the rehearsal because the Church was so overbooked for weddings that weekend, that the bride and groom graciously gave their convenient rehearsal time to another couple desperately seeking matrimony on this gorgeous fall weekend.
Friday afternoon, the itinerary required we visit The Museum, and Saturday morning before the wedding, we walked all over Chicago. Then back to the hotel for a quick shower and change and meet the little bus to the wedding.
